2017 Favorites: Lip Products

Lipsticks are pretty much my weakness and I've found some true winners during 2017. I've taken a huge step away from matte liquid lipsticks ever since my weird lip allergy and found more moisturizing (but probably still matte) lip products. Like all of my other 2017 Favorite posts, I'm going to be wordy and so I'll just jump right in!

Lano Lips 101 Ointment Strawberry Multi-Balm
I can’t do a 2017 Lip Favorites post without this product. It’s hands down one of the best balms I’ve ever tried and it smells like Strawberry YanYans. I’ve kind of struggled with a weird lip allergy on and off throughout 2017 and this balm was one of the few that actually helped to moisturize and protect my lips. I’ve also gotten a few eczema patches on my shoulders and this balm has also been working wonders on those areas.

Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color | Review here
Perfectly blotted looking lips. What more do I need to say?! But really, these lip sticks are my favorite lip formula find from 2017. They’re moisturizing, low maintenance, and the finish is something I do normally try to achieve on a no-makeup makeup day but with more steps.

MAC Cosmetics Matte Lipstick in Chili
It's been awhile since I've liked a MAC lipstick enough that it's become a year favorite. From far away and also just in the tube, Chili looks like a standard red lipstick but then a brown burnt orange undertone comes out when it's being worn. For a MAC Matte formula, it's pretty comfortable and so smooth. Chili is such a gorgeous shade and I normally keep it in my bag since it's such a wearable red shade.

Too Faced Melted Matte Lip Color in Gingerbread Man
I’ve never really tried Too Faced’s liquid lipstick formula before, but Gingerbread Man was a shade I couldn’t resist. Besides the Pony Effect Stay Fit Matte Lip Colors, this is probably one of my top liquid lipstick formulas. It’s not completely transfer proof but it is completely comfortable and lasts for a really long time. The color is also a perfect rusty reddy burnt orange.

NARS Audacious Lipstick in Linda
Some of my lip favorites are because of the formula and while the Audacious formula is amazing, I wanted to talk about Linda specifically. Linda is a perfect orange based brown nude / caramel shade. I consider the Audacious formula a luxury because of the price point and so I only really get one if the shade is something really unique. Linda has a super pigmented cream finish and it just glides over my lips. It almost reminds me of the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipsticks too, which is one of my all time favorite lipstick formulas.

Melt Cosmetics Lipstick in Mum
Can you sense a theme in the shades I’ve loved during 2017? This formula isn’t as smooth as some other matte shades I’ve tried, but it’s a long lasting non-liquid formula with a beautiful color. Mum is a burnt orange or deeper caramel shade on me, but I’ve also seen it look like a brighter burnt orange shade on others.

3CE Liquid Lip Color in Obsessed
I've taken a huge step away from matte liquid lipsticks during 2017, but this is one of the few matte liquid lipsticks I've continued to use. Generally, I've avoided squeeze tube lip products since they can get messy, but I really liked this applicator! Since it has a doe foot applicator and matte formula, I'm able to really push the product into my lips for a longer wear time. The 3CE Liquid Lip Color formula is also so comfortable to wear! I've have two shades and if they were easier to buy, I would for sure get more. Obsessed has been my go-to matte deep red shade since I've gotten it.

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick in Purée and Pare
I'm still a huge huge fan of the Amuse Bouche Lipsticks but instead of repeating that, I wanted to feature the liquified version that came out during 2017. It's basically a liquid version of my favorite formula but there's a bit more shine than the original Amuse Bouche formula. I personally don't think that they last as long as the Amuse Bouche lipstick since there's more slip, but they feel more cushiony like a gloss but are fully pigmented and opaque with just one swipe. Like everything sold by Bite Beauty, it feels so comfortable on the lips. The formula is consistent with the five shades I have, but I wear and praise Purée and Pare the most since those are currently my kind of my shades.

Memebox I’m Meme Tic Tom Cushion Velvet Lip Tint* | Review here
I got all of the shades from Memebox as PR Samples to review and I’m so impressed by them. Unsurprisingly, I love Dangerous Red and Lively Orange but my favorite is definitely Wicked Pink. The formula is so smooth and the initial velvet finish and lasting stain are both gorgeous. The slanted cushion applicator also works really well to push the product into my lips for long lasting color.

Some forever favorites that it's almost too boring to talk about now - Dior Addict Lip Glow in Pink, NARS Velvet lip Glides, Pony Effect Stay Fit Matte Lip Colors, and Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipsticks.

& those are my favorite lip products from 2017!

What lip products did you love last year? Do you have any recommendations? Have you tried any of these?
