A Touch Of Shine And Color With My Favorite Glosses

I feel like I'm a changed person now. I used to never wear glossy lip products and now I usually carry 2-3 in my bag depending on my outfit. I started with one Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector and while it may not seem like a lot, it's pretty much doubled in size in a month and a half.

This is a very beginner gloss product post though since I'm still not into glassy high shine lip products. While I do love a high shine look on other people, it's not for me. I also don't like sticky products on my lips and high shine glosses usually feel too thick to me too.

I've tried glosses before, but it was mostly really Lip Smackers when I was younger and then I just dismissed glosses ever since. After awhile, I couldn't help but purchase the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors after hearing about them in almost every YouTube video for months. I mostly credit Anna from The Anna Edit though because she also mentioned these in multiple yearly favorites.

My first purchase was Rosewood Shimmer and then I started to collect more. I try not to get too crazy with purchasing these though since they're so sheer that there's not too much of a difference between shades in the same color family. I wouldn't say that the formula is thick, but there's a cushiony plush feel on my lips when I wear them. Because I don't wear gloss that often, it does feel thick (I doubt it is to other people) but doesn't feel tacky.

The shades I own are Rosewood Shimmer, Juicy Mandarin (LE), Pink Grapefruit (LE), Red Shimmer (LE) and Plum Shimmer. They retail for $26 and can be found using the links below. Some of the LE shades are only available on certain websites though.

I oddly have a soft spot for the Burberry Beauty and I don't know why. They don't even regularly release new stuff like other brands but I'm always so intrigued by their products. Because of that, I looked into the Burberry Beauty First Kiss Fresh Gloss Lip Balm since I wanted something that was also moisturizing.

Like the Clarins Lip Perfectors, these are sheer but with enough color to tint my lips. The shine is pretty soft and so it's so wearable for me since it's not too glassy. The formula is thin and with the slanted metal applicator, it feels cooling and comfortable on the lips. It sometimes is a bit too thin though because it does fade away pretty quickly. If you're looking for a glossy tinted lip balm, this could probably be your go-to product.

The shades I have are #2 Coral Glow, #4 Crushed Red, and #5 Sweet Plum. They retail for $26 each and can be purchased through the links below

The next two are actually glosses intending to be glossy!

Right after I got Rosewood Shimmer from Clarins, I got the Urban Decay Naked Ultra Nourishing Lip Gloss in Rule34 because I wanted something with a higher shine. I was also going through that mauvey brown nude lip shade phase like everyone else about a year or two ago and thought this would be perfect. This gloss fits so perfectly in the Naked line since it feels so light and looks as natural as a gloss can be without going overboard. The touch of color helps my lips look less dead in the morning as well and really pulls together a no-makeup makeup look.

The Urban Decay Naked Ultra Nourishing Lip Glosses retail for $20 each and can be purchased using the links below.

Lastly, the Glossier Lip Gloss! It's a very basic clear lip gloss (even though it looks like the classic Glossier pink shade in the tube) but it feels so cushiony soft on the lips while being very glossy. It also keeps your lips moisturized without feeling too tacky, thick, or sticky. With the super matte lip trend slowing down, this would be a great lip gloss choice to add a clear shine to your favorite matte shade.

The Glossier Lip Gloss retails for $14. If you use my rep affiliate link here, you can get 20% off your first order. You can also get free shipping with orders including more than 2 products. Purchases through my rep link give me a small commission per order. If you're not comfortable with that, you can also purchase it directly here.
