Chic It Out! Ft. The Sephora Favorites Chic It Easy Set

The Sephora Chic It Easy set contains the "essentials for a coveted French look." I don't know about that, but the aim was to "achieve minimal makeup, tousled hair, and a pop of red lip color for enviable beauty." There are two full sized products and the rest are either travel sizes or deluxe samples. I was immediately drawn to this set because I've been wanting to try the YSL Touche Éclat for years. The set retails for $49, but I also calculated each individual price in each products' description!

The Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 in Nude (30 mL / 1.0 fl oz; $22) is something I've tried in the past before. I had the oil-free version, but I didn't really see a difference when I sampled both versions. I feel like I'm one of the few bloggers that didn't like this tinted moisturizer. It's probably because I have a lot of hyper pigmentation though since this product is so sheer. It works best when rubbed in with your fingers, but this will mostly be a weekend makeup product for when I'm not going to do much.

The Caudalie Beauty Elixir (30 mL / 1.0 fl oz; $18) is the other product I've tried before and I also have mixed feelings about it. I thought it was expensive for something that didn't give obvious results, but it's something that I've missed over the years. My face hasn't been feeling the greatest and this spray gives me the perfect pick me up that I've been wanting for summer.

The Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk (50 mL / Net Wt 1 oz; $10) was a surprisingly good product to me. Most dry shampoos work about the same way with my hair but this made it feel less greasy. Other dry shampoos make my hair look less greasy but my hair ends up feeling heavy as well.

As a red lipstick lover, I was excited to see the NARS Cosmetics Lipstick in Jungle Red (3.4 g / 0.11 oz; $28) in this set. It's a semi matte bright neutral red and so it's more flashy than the dark fully matte red lipsticks I normally wear. It's more on the sheer (but buildable) side and it also became more shiny the more I layered it on. I feel like this is a good beginner red lipstick though since you can adjust the opacity to make it more wearable. The weight Sephora lists for this lipstick is 0.12 oz, but I believe this is the other full sized product they were talking about.

L to R -
Laura Mercier Nude
NARS Jungle Red (looks more orange because of the yellow in my skin)
MUFE M-10
YSL Luminous Ivory

The Sephora Formula X Nail Polish in Pyrotechnic (4 mL / 0.13 fl oz; $3.41) is the other bright red product in this set. The Formula X nail polishes have always worked well on my nails and this polish was no exception! It applied very easily and was fully opaque with two layers.

The Makeup Forever Aqua XL Eye Pencil in M-10 (0.5 g / 0.01 oz; $5.25) is a matte black eyeliner that is very creamy and pigmented. I used it on my waterline and it went on so smoothly, but it slightly dragged on my lids. It's not any better or worse than other high end black eye pencils I've tried though and so I would rather stick with my favorite Marc Jacobs liners.

The Atelier Cologne in Orange Sanguine Cologne Absolue (4 mL / 0.14 fl oz) might be the product I immediately loved from the set. It is citrus scent that isn't too sweet or fruity. Like all other beauty bloggers, I can't explain scents but this perfume has a sharper scent that makes it more adult like. I can't stop smelling myself when I wear this perfume and I'll definitely be adding this onto my wishlist for when I run out.

The Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat in No. 2 Luminous Ivory (2.5 mL / 0.1 fl oz; $42) was the product I was the most excited about and the main reason I got this whole set. I've been wanting to try this raved about product for years and since this was the full size and the color worked for me, I jumped on it. I'll be fully testing it out and comparing it to other highlighting concealers, but my impression of it right now is that it looks so lovely on the skin. Not a ground breaking product, but I understand the love for it. There aren't any noticeable shimmers and it blends in so easily because it's thin.

Wearing -
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in Nude all over the face
YSL Touche Éclat in Luminous Ivory on my forehead and undereye area
NYX Gotcha Covered Concealer in Medium just on my cheeks
NARS Jungle Red on my lips
Sephora Formula X Pyrotechnic on my nails
Makeup Forever Aqua XL Eye Pencil in M-10
Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara in Very Black
MAC Cosmetics Eyeshadows in Coppering, Woodwinked, and Red Brick
L'oreal Brow Stylist Definer in Brunette

Final thoughts: Without the perfume, this set values for $118.66 and that's an amazing deal if you were interested in 2-3 of these products. Sephora says it's a $143 value, but I don't think the perfume would be valued at $24.34. I didn't calculate the price of the perfume since there were too many "full size" bottles for me to compare it to. I was kind of underwhelmed by this set in general, but considering I mostly just wanted to get the YSL Touche Éclat and Caudalie Beauty Elixir, I'm pretty happy. I saved a lot of money and I do see myself using all of these products in the future even if I'm not overly in love with them.

Please let me know if you would like a full in depth review of any of these products! Did you end up getting this set? What product caught your eye?
